Movie Night and More!

A Message from Ms. Wilhelm:

Hi Everyone!

Welcome back from another three day weekend!. his Friday is our Hui Movie Night featuring the movie Storks. We have the pizza, bentos, and ju mui pops as pre-order items. Call the school office if you still want to place an order. Drinks and popcorn will also be available that night. You can also bring in your own food and snacks. Please let us know if you are coming so that we can plan for everyone to be safe and have a good time!

During the Winter break we were able to complete three “Peace Gardens” and our Character Counts Mural on the library. Thank you to all the students, teachers and staff who came in during the break to paint! Special thanks to Mr. Kozai, Creighton’s (Ms. Kelley’s class) father for volunteering to termite treat the wood backing of our beautiful CC Mural and to our talented art director, retired teacher, Mrs. Darlene Oshiro!

Alert! We have had to put up permanent no parking signs in our back parking lot. Cars can now be cited by HPD officers as well as towed away. When cars parked in the lot on Saturday, our trash pick-up was blocked. Our trash sat in the hot sun and was very smelly by the time it was picked up four days later. Please help us spread the word to anyone you know who is parking in our lot of this change.

Also, a safety hazard exists with students being dropped off and picked up on Lanikuhana Place. Parking, dropping off and pickup up students on Lanikuhana Place is prohibited. The authorized drop off and pick up is located in the front school parking lot situated at Kuahelani Avenue. HPD Officers will be patrolling Lanikuhana Place due to the increase number of vehicles in this area. NO PARKING signs are posted in this cul-de-sac. Drivers can be cited by HPD Officers.

Caelyn Fujimoto, has been chosen as a Kid Biz Literacy All-Star winner! She attended the awards ceremony at Hilton Hawaiian Village with her parents and her teacher, Mrs. Saruwatari! Caelyn loves to read and wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up.

Mark you calendars for upcoming Hui events – Shamrock Shuffle Fun Run fundraiser on March 17 and our Spring Fling on April 13!

This week we begin our discussions to develop our academic plan for next school year. We will be sharing the process at our SCC meeting tonight, 2/21/17 at 5pm in the office conference room. Please feel free to drop by and join our meeting! You are welcome to come to all of our SCC and Hui meetings. Check our school website calendar for dates and times.
